2023 Presidential Poll : I Raised $50,000 Cash For Atiku – Says Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, says he supported the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar in the just concluded election with $50,000 cash.
The United States-based Omokri, who made this known in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, said the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the election is his good friend that has good plans for Nigeria.
Omokri said he would remain a true friend to Atiku despite the outcome of the election.
His words: “Stop asking me to leave Waziri Atiku and face #RenosNuggets. This is becoming rather annoying. Waziri is my friend. He has feelings just like you and I. He is only human. He has good plans for Nigeria. The elections may be over, but I never abandon my friends.
“I remained loyal to former President Jonathan after he lost in 2015 and I did not starve. I will remain loyal to Waziri Atiku. I hate disloyalty with a passion. It is not in my DNA.
” I am saying this here for the very first time, for those who think money is why people like me follow people and remain true. I raised $50,000 cash for Waziri Atiku’s campaign, because I believe in him. He is still alive. Ask him. I am for Atiku today and tomorrow.
“If you cannot stomach the principles by which I choose to live my life, or you hate who I am, or who I associate with, then kindly unfollow me and follow those whose principles align with yours, to avoid conflicts.”
Ibom Focus reports that Atiku came second in the presidential election with about 6.8 million votes as the Independent National Electoral Commission declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, as winner of the p6 with over 8 million votes.
