Suspected Bandit Arrested With AK-47 While Attempting Kidnap in Taraba
A suspected bandit identified as Mr. Luper has been arrested at Gidan Amadu in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State while allegedly attempting to abduct a victim.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended with an AK-47 rifle, while two other members of his gang escaped arrest. Security operatives are said to be making efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The arrest comes days after troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) raided a suspected terrorist hideout around Peva in Takum LGA, where five persons believed to be associates of a notorious bandit were arrested.
The successive security operations underscore the need for sustained military offensives, effective intelligence gathering and stronger collaboration with local communities to combat kidnapping, armed banditry and other criminal activities in Southern Taraba.
