Okoibu is a promise keeper – PDP Chairmen Forum
… Council boss calls for continuous support for Gov. Udom Emmanuel, PDP.
As part of fulfilling the promises he made during his campaign tour, the Executive Chairman of Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa ibom state, Hon. Nyakno Okoibu today met with the Forum of Ward Chairmen in Ikono Local government Area
Gathered in an air permeated with infectious camaraderie, the ward chairmen thanked the Council Boss for fulfilling his promise within a short period of time after his resumption of office.
They reasoned that it was a sign of the Chairman’s sincerity and his commitment to ensuring that love, peace and unity is fostered among members of the forum and the people of Ikono Local government Area at large.
The Ward Chairmen further thanked the Chairman for living up to his campaign promises so far through his sterling leadership strides. They expressed satisfaction on the innovation and positivism he has brought to governance and administration.
The 12 ward leaders selected the Chair of Chairs, Mr Nkereuwen Umoren who represented Ediene Itak zone, Mr Oto Williams – Ikono middle and Mr Samuel Akpan – Ikono south to speak on their behalf.
One speaker after the other poured encomiums on Hon.Nyakno’s holistic and participatory administrative style and pledged their support throughout his tenure in office.
The Executive Chairman in his remarks assured the ward leaders of his commitment to ensure that the dividends of effective representation saturates the nooks and crannies of Ikono Local Government Area.
He promised to leave no stone unturned in his bid to make Ikono Local government Area a point of reference when it comes to people-centred administration.
He thanked them for the confidence reposed in him and called on the leaders to be consistent in their support for the People’s Democratic Party and the administration of His Excellency, Gov. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
He stressed that as the largest political party in Africa the PDP is endowed with men and women of outstanding mental acuity that can proffer tenable solutions to the maladies plaguing the nation.
Thereafter, a minute of silence was observed in honour of the departed state PDP Chairman, late Obong Udo Ekpeyong.
IBOM FOCUS understand that Hon. Nyakno Okoibu was sworn in last December, 2020 along others Local government chairmen in Akwa ibom state, he took over from Hon. Itoro Columba who was the best Local government chairman in Akwa ibom state during his tenure.
