Aisha Buhari says Nigeria Has Become Something Else
First Lady Aisha Buhari Thursday says “situation where children are not safe in their schools in the country means the society has become something else.”
Mrs Buhari made this statement in Kano while speaking about recent murder of Hanifa Abubakar, a five-year-old pupil who was murdered by her school teacher and buried in a shallow grave.
Mrs Buhari said the offender must be punished inorder to appease Nigerians enraged by the dastardly act.
“I think the punishment should be done in order to satisfy all the mothers in Nigeria,” she said.
Mrs Buhari further said she hopes and pray that justice will be done for the innocent Hanifa in Kano.
“As a mother, I have children and grandchildren. Already, my grandchildren are in nursery and primary school and trust their teacher so much,” she said.
Earlier in January, the police command in Kano arrested a teacher Abdulmalik Mohammed, 30, and Hashim Isyaku, 37, for kidnapping and murdering the five-year-old girl.
