Nigeria has reported 39 new COVID-19 cases with Lagos State recording the highest number of the new infections, according to figures released on Friday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
This was contained in a release published on the official Twitter handle of the NCDC on Friday.
According to the agency, the 39 new COVID-19 cases have brought the number of confirmed cases in the country to 165,340.
According to the NCDC, the 39 new cases were reported from 8 states- Lagos (23), FCT (4), Kano (4), Zamfara (4), Akwa Ibom (1), Gombe (1), Nasarawa (1), and Plateau (1).
“Till date, 165340 cases have been confirmed, 155454 cases have been discharged and 2065 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” the health agency said
NCDC reported no new COVID-19 related death.
The agency said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre, activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
