Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says the outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries will shock many Nigerians.
Governor Wike said in reaction to claims by Atiku Abubakar in a trending video, which suggests that he would clinch the ticket of PDP again in next primaries of the party.
The Governor, who spoke in Port Harcourt on Sunday, said the comment amounted to “taking the convention delegates for granted”.
“I didn’t expect him frankly speaking to say that he will always take the ticket of the party. That is going too far and taking the delegates for granted.”
He assured that whoever emerges candidate of PDP, out of all the aspirants, would be supported by the entire party to make sure that he wins the 2023 presidential election.
Governor Wike said he is committed in doing anything that would ensure PDP returns to power in 2023 and begin once again the process of rebuilding the nation after years of poor governance by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He urged PDP members to avoid making divisive utterances, insisting that the outcome of the party’s presidential election will shock many Nigerians.
“People should watch, there will be shock as far as PDP convention is concern. People should watch what is going to happen. People like to underrate so many persons and it is not good in politics.”
