You Have 2-week To Take COVID Vaccine – Nigerian Govt Issues Ultimatum To Civil Servants

Information reaching Ibom Focus that Nigerian Govt Issues Ultimatum To Civil Servants says You Have 2-week To Take COVID Vaccine

The Ondo government has given civil servants in the state two weeks to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The directive was contained in a circular signed by O.J. Afolabi, permanent secretary, service matters, on behalf of the Ondo head of civil service.

According to a statement issued on Friday, workers were asked to ensure that they receive the COVID vaccine if they haven’t.

Afolabi added that after the grace period, workers will be expected to present their vaccination cards to access some government facilities.

“The Ondo state government has made COVID-19 vaccination compulsory for all workers in the state,” the statement reads.

“In a government circular signed by Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, Mr O.J. Afolabi, on behalf of the Head of Service, the state government gave public servants in the state two weeks to take the vaccine.

“The circular states that vaccination card will henceforth be required from Public Servants in order to access some facilities.

“It also charged workers on strict adherence and compliance to COVID-19 protocol.”

The development comes hours after Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), said the vaccine will soon be made mandatory for federal workers.

Mustapha said this on Thursday at the meeting of the health commissioners forum, held in Abuja.
