The All Progressive Congress in Benue State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term of office in 2027.

The party also passed a vote of confidence in the president, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shetima; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume and the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Gadunje.

The endorsement was a unanimous decision of the party stakeholders at a meeting held in Makurdi on Sunday.

Prominent elders and leaders of the party from the three senatorial districts of the state, including present and past national assembly members, state assembly members and local government and ward executives attended the stakeholders meeting.

The stakeholders had earlier passed a vote of confidence in the president and vice president, Senator Kashim Shetima, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume and national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Gadunje.

The leader of the party stakeholders, Senator Tilley Gyado said that the leadership of President Bola Tinubu will guide the nation to a new life of posterity, unity and dimmisive development.

He stated that the president is already laying a good foundation to restore the economy of the country just as he stated that Benue State, aside from monthly allocation, had received N44 billion in various forms of intervention.

He listed the interventions to include, post-subsidy removal, infrastructure and sub-national intervention funds.

According to Gyado, “The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has put in efforts and emphasis to steer Nigeria, particularly, Benue State towards a trajectory of progress and development.

“The installation of solar power in major towns within the state and Makurdi through the office of Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals is a testament to the commitment to sustainable solutions, this has attracted safety and also created a more vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for our citizens.

“President Tinubu’s leadership to address the ills of all Nigerians and people of Benue State was further restored by the allocation of substantial funds; N5 billion post subsidy removal fund with palliatives, N9 billion Infrastructural funds and the N30 billion sub national intervention fund all these have collectively inputs N44 billion into the state.

“That if properly utilised will alleviate the suffering of people and foster economic growth in Benue State.

“The other developmental initiatives epitomised by the commencement of Makurdi/ Enugu road including flyover at Wurukum in Makurdi marks a significant milestone.

“The Ministry of Works recently flagged off this transformative project in Makurdi last month showcasing President Tinubu’s commitment to transformation efforts at improving connectivity.

“Acknowledging the preponderance of representation and the appointment of Senator George Akume, leader of APC in Benue State as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, this couple with several of key appointments of our sons and daughters signify the commitment of inclusive governance that are highly recognized.

Gyado further said, “The Benue APC in a unanimous voice passes a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shetimma, SGF, Senator George Akume and the national chairman of APC, Abdullahi Gadunje.
