U.S. Secret Service Launches Recruitment, Offers Up to $75,000 Incentive

The United States Secret Service has announced a large-scale recruitment exercise for its Uniformed Division, offering incentives of up to $75,000 to successful applicants as part of efforts to strengthen its workforce.
The announcement was made on Monday via the agency’s official page on X, where it outlined eligibility criteria, responsibilities, and benefits for prospective candidates.
According to the agency, applicants must be U.S. citizens aged between 20 and 40. They are also required to possess a valid driver’s licence, pass medical and background checks, and qualify for top-secret security clearance. Citizenship may be acquired by birth, through American parents, or by naturalisation.
Officers in the Uniformed Division are tasked with protecting key government facilities and locations linked to Secret Service protectees. These include the White House, the Vice President’s residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory, and the Treasury Building, among other sensitive sites.
In addition to static security duties, officers support protective operations involving the President, Vice President, and visiting foreign dignitaries.
The agency noted that new recruits could receive up to $75,000 in incentives, paid in instalments over four years, subject to successful completion of training and continued service. It also highlighted accelerated hiring opportunities, with some candidates able to begin work within 120 days.
Personnel may also be deployed to specialised units such as Counter Sniper teams, Emergency Response teams, and K-9 units.
The recruitment process includes entrance examinations, interviews, background investigations, and physical fitness assessments. Successful applicants will undergo 13 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, followed by 18 weeks of specialised instruction at the James J. Rowley Training Center.
New officers are expected to earn annual salaries ranging from $77,987 to $134,165, depending on experience and career progression.
The recruitment drive is part of broader efforts by the Secret Service to expand its personnel capacity and enhance security for critical national infrastructure and top government officials.
