Nigeria Congratulates Pakistan On The 70th Anniversary Of Its Republic Day
The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, extends warm congratulations to His Excellency, Senator Mohammed Ishaq Dar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Republic Day.
This historic milestone commemorates seven decades since the adoption of Pakistan’s Republican Constitution in 1956, a defining moment that consolidated the country’s sovereignty, institutional governance, and democratic evolution. Over the years, Pakistan has demonstrated notable resilience in navigating complex domestic and international challenges, while remaining steadfast in its commitment to national development, regional peace, and constructive engagement within the international community.
Nigeria acknowledges Pakistan’s important role in promoting stability and cooperation in South Asia and beyond and commends the Government of Pakistan for its sustained contributions to multilateral diplomacy, peacekeeping operations, and efforts aimed at fostering economic growth and social development.
Nigeria and Pakistan continue to enjoy warm, cordial, and mutually beneficial bilateral relations, underpinned by shared values, historical goodwill, and common perspectives on key global issues. Both countries have maintained productive collaboration across various sectors, including trade and investment, education, defence cooperation, capacity-building, and technical exchange.
At the multilateral level, Nigeria and Pakistan have consistently worked together within international platforms such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, where they advocate for peace, security, sustainable development, and the protection of the interests of developing nations.
Nigeria reaffirms the commitment to further deepening bilateral engagement with Pakistan through enhanced diplomatic exchanges, expanded economic cooperation, and strengthened people-to-people ties. We are confident that the enduring partnership between both countries will continue to flourish for the mutual benefit of our peoples.
On this notable occasion therefore, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria extend their best wishes to the Government and people of Pakistan for continued peace, stability, and prosperity.
