FG’s ₦50,000 Relief: Moniepoint Reveals USSD Code Customers Can Use to Check Eligibility

Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has announced that its customers can now check their eligibility for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 emergency relief support through a USSD code.
The bank disclosed in a statement on Wednesday that customers can dial 557327# using their registered phone numbers and select the option to check their eligibility for the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

According to the bank, customers confirmed as beneficiaries will be guided through the process of accepting the support and receiving the money directly into their Moniepoint accounts at no additional cost.
The intervention, being coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is aimed at providing financial assistance to vulnerable households struggling with prevailing economic challenges.
Ibom Focus had earlier reported that the Federal Government had commenced payments to eligible Nigerians under the programme.
Moniepoint said it was among the financial institutions selected by the Federal Government to facilitate the disbursement of the relief funds.
The bank explained that beneficiaries were selected based on government-approved eligibility criteria and verification processes involving verified national identity records and the National Social Register.
It further clarified that the programme would be implemented in phases across the country, meaning that not all customers would qualify or receive the funds at the same time.
Speaking on the development, Moniepoint’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Babatunde Olofin, said the bank was pleased to support eligible customers in accessing the government’s intervention.
Olofin said the bank would deploy its technology and financial infrastructure to ensure that the process remained accessible, seamless and secure.
He urged customers to use only Moniepoint’s official USSD channel to check their eligibility and access the funds.
The bank stressed that the process required no additional payment, documentation or third-party intervention.
Customers seeking further clarification were advised to contact Moniepoint’s customer service team or the NERSI helpdesk.
Moniepoint added that its nationwide financial services network, including its Point-of-Sale terminals across the country’s 774 local government areas, would help support the distribution of the intervention.
