Nigeria Commends China, Seeks Stronger Industrial Cooperation At AIBO Seminar Closing In Beijing

Beijing, China – The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed deep appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) for organizing a transformative seminar on industrial cooperation and new industrialisation under the Global Development Initiative.

Speaking at the joint closing ceremony in Beijing, the Spokesperson of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, described the seminar as “intellectually enriching and transformative,” highlighting the value of the knowledge shared on industrial policy, technological innovation, and sustainable development.

Ebienfa commended AIBO for its warm hospitality and conducive learning environment, as well as the Chinese Embassy in Abuja for facilitating Nigeria’s participation through nomination and sponsorship.
He noted that the seminar provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of China’s industrial modernization journey, particularly through expert-led lectures and strategic site visits to key industrial hubs such as the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and the Suzhou-Changshu Economic and Technological Zone (CEDZ).
According to him, the exposure to advanced infrastructure, clean energy solutions, and cutting-edge technologies underscores China’s global leadership in industrial production and innovation.

“For Sub-Saharan Africa, this experience serves as a clarion call to translate these lessons into actionable policies,” Ebienfa said, stressing the need to harness Africa’s youthful population and abundant natural resources for sustainable development.

He reaffirmed China’s role as a reliable partner to Africa, noting that both regions stand to gain significantly from enhanced cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly investment and industrial development.
The Nigerian spokesperson also highlighted the importance of fostering stronger bilateral relations and applying the knowledge gained to support national and regional development goals.

Reflecting on the diversity of the programme, which brought together 130 participants from 10 countries across Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America, Ebienfa said the engagement fostered unity and shared commitment toward global peace and prosperity.

He expressed confidence that participants would act as ambassadors of industrial cooperation and contribute meaningfully to building a modernized and inclusive global economy.

Ebienfa concluded by thanking the Chinese government for its continued support for Nigeria through capacity-building initiatives and infrastructure investments, describing the relationship between both countries as mutually beneficial and forward-looking.
He also extended special appreciation to AIBO leadership and staff for their dedication, professionalism, and care throughout the programme.

“We are grateful for this honour and unparalleled opportunity,” he said.
