Suspects Arrested for Forging ICPC Identity Cards, Unregistered Lexus IS 250 Recovered
Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Alleged Forged ICPC Identity Card, Recover Unregistered Lexus In Nasarawa
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested three persons over the alleged possession of a forged Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) identity card and recovered an unregistered Lexus IS 250 in Lafia.
The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit during a routine patrol around Bukan Sidi, Lafia.

According to a statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Rahman Nansel, the suspects were identified as Mohammed Umar, Mohammed Nuhu and Ibrahim Suleiman.
The statement disclosed that during interrogation, Mohammed Nuhu allegedly introduced himself as an ICPC officer and presented an identification card purportedly issued by the commission.
However, when the driver, Mohammed Umar, was questioned about the ownership of the Lexus IS 250, which had no registration number, he reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation, leading to the arrest of all three occupants.
Further investigation allegedly revealed that the ICPC identification card presented by Mohammed Nuhu was forged.
The suspect reportedly claimed that he accompanied the driver from Kaduna State to Lafia because the driver did not have a valid driver’s licence.
The police also disclosed that profiling of the suspects allegedly linked Ibrahim Suleiman to an unlawful group known as the Eiye Confraternity.
The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue. The command said they would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, while efforts are ongoing to establish the rightful ownership of the vehicle and uncover other possible offences.
The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Shetima Jauro Mohamed, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-led operations and the fight against criminal activities across the state.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to the police to assist in maintaining security.
