Information reaching Ibom Focus says that Young Man Caught While Trying To Set Mum On Fire
A young man has been nabbed while reportedly attempting to set his mother on fire in Nkpa community, Bende Local Government Area of Abia state.
According to a native of the community, David Ogechukwu, the young man is addicted to Crystal Methamphetamine, famously known as Mkpurummiri in the Southeast of Nigeria.
Ogechukwu narrated thus:
“This boy is an addicted consumer of ‘Mkpuru mmiri’.
He beats his family members and destroys things each time he is high on the stuff, recently he told his mom that he will kill her for rituals.
Yesterday, he poured petrol on his mother with matches in his hand but couldn’t light it because the mother smartly pushed the jerrycan and the remaining petrol poured on him so he dropped the matches and used cutlass to chase her until he was caught by the vigilante team.
They had two options of sending him to state CID or flogging him but the same mother begged them to just flog him and warn him.”
