.. Says party must remain united
The Deputy State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom, Hon. Lawrence Udosen, has charged stakeholders of the party to remain steadfast in the pursuit of the democratic ideals of the party in the cause of growing the state.
Addressing local government chapter chairmen of the party in Uyo, Tuesday February 2, 2021, the Acting Chairman stressed that while the party in the state is going through a critical period, stakeholders and key members of the party should display courage in the face of challenges and stay on the path of the party’s development objectives.
Hon. Udosen who stressed the need for the party in the state to remain united, noted that as a policy promoted by the late state Chairman, Obong Udo Ekpenyong, unity in the party must be upheld at all cost. He expressed that to show respect to the departed chairman, all interests must align with that of the party.
He further assured the chapter chairmen of continued strategic partnership in enchrenching democratic ideals in the state and contributing to the completion agenda of Gov Udom Emmanuel led administration. While reeling out some of the achievements of the late party Chairman, Udosen advised that party faithful should not derail in keeping to the directives of late Obong Ekpenyong on issues regarding internal democracy and party loyalty.
Speaking on behalf of the chapter chairmen, the chairman, Forum of Chapter Chairmen, Hon. Eddy Etangnkanga, appreciated the Deputy State Chairman for his leadership style while holding stead in the interim. Etangnkanga who is also the Esit Eket chapter chairman of the party, presented concerns of the party at the grassroots, holding that chapter chairmen are relentless in maintaining the democratic ethos of the party for the greater good of the people.
Chapter Chairmen at the meeting who spoke separately, reemphasized their commitment to keep supporting and stand by the Governor as he delivers on the completion agenda for the people of Akwa Ibom state.
