Tinubu’s Visit: Umo Eno Declares November 6 Work-Free Day in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Government has declared Friday, November 6, 2026, a work-free day to enable workers and residents to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his official visit to the state.

Governor Umo Eno announced the declaration ahead of the President’s visit, which is expected to feature the official opening of the new terminal at Victor Attah International Airport and the commissioning of several landmark projects executed by the state government.

The announcement was contained in a public announcement dated November 5, 2026, and signed by the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Aniekan Umanah.

According to the announcement, President Tinubu will be accompanied by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and other members of the Presidential entourage.

Projects scheduled for commissioning during the visit include the Airport Hospital, Aviation Village, the 7.8-kilometre dualised Ring Road 3, AkwaGIS Building, Governor’s Office Annex, Security and Command Centre, and ARISE Palm Resort.

The state government said the declaration was intended to give workers and residents the opportunity to participate in welcoming the President and his entourage.

It added that the visit underscores the shared commitment of the Federal and State Governments to national unity, cooperation and sustainable development.

Governor Eno urged residents across the state to turn out in large numbers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium to give President Tinubu and his entourage a warm reception.

He also called on residents to maintain peace and order throughout the presidential visit.
