Three Suspected Robbers Nabbed as Troops Recover FN Rifle, Ammunition in Plateau
Troops of the newly established 24 Armoured Brigade have arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered a foldable FN rifle, ammunition and a stolen motorcycle in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation, conducted under Operation UNITY HAVEN, was launched following a distress call from Sabon Gida, Pil Gani Village, where a robbery incident left a victim with a gunshot wound to the forehead.
The Acting Commander of 24 Armoured Brigade immediately led a patrol team to the scene after receiving the report. The injured victim was evacuated to a nearby medical facility for urgent medical attention.
Following the initial response, the troops joined forces with local vigilantes to carry out a coordinated search of the area, which resulted in the arrest of three suspects.
The suspects were identified as John Nimmeyez, Nanzif Khmzif and Nanchaf Lamck.
The Army disclosed that the recovered items included one foldable FN rifle, nine rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition and a stolen motorcycle.
The suspects and the recovered exhibits remain in military custody pending further action.
Meanwhile, troops have stepped up patrols in the area to prevent further criminal activities, deny armed robbers freedom of movement and reassure residents of their safety.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its determination to collaborate with local security stakeholders to tackle criminal activities and sustain peace and security in communities within its operational area.
