Information reaching IBOM FOCUS that, Stray Bullet Rips Open Man’s Mouth
A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a stray bullet amid the ongoing joint military operation to flush out hoodlums in Essien Udim local government area, Akwa Ibom State.
Recall the operation, which saw military helicopters hovering around the area in search of criminal elements, with sounds of heavy gunfire reported by residents.
The man pacing up and down, visibly in pain, as some people asked him how he got hit. He could only hum as his mouth was spilt apart by the bullet, with bloodstains on his body.
It is not entirely clear who fired the bullets but social media reports claim security forces where shooting sporadically into the air.
Essien Udim has recently witnessed a spate of violence with many lives lost – especially those of security forces.
Unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have over the last two months ramped up their attack on security agencies and carted away some weapons.

In the light of this, heads of security agencies have decided that the hoodlums must be brought down.
