Wike Vows To Continue Giving Opposition Parties Sleepless Nights
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has vowed to keep giving the opposition parties sleepless nights
He specifically mentioned members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) will experience unrest as long as he operates within the law.
Wike made these remarks during a press conference following a meeting with the FCT Executive Committee. His comments came after a confrontation with Naval officer Lieutenant AM Yerima over a land dispute in the Gaduwa area of Abuja.
The land, initially meant for Parks and Recreation, was being altered by its owner, former Chief of Naval Staff Awwal Gambo (retd).
Attempts by FCT officials to halt the illegal modifications were thwarted when military personnel were sent to the site to prevent the officials from doing their jobs. Upset by this interference, Wike visited the location with his team but was blocked by Yerima and the military. This altercation sparked significant public outrage.
Despite the backlash, Wike stated, “I have no regrets about my political opponents. I will keep making them lose sleep, whether they belong to PDP, APC, or ADC.”
