We Won’t Arrest All Criminals, Nigerian Police Speaks On Terrorists Showing Off Ransom Money
The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to the shared images on X of terrorists, disguised as bandits and kidnappers, flaunting their ransom money on social media.
The police force spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Friday responded that all criminals could not be arrested in one day, adding that security agencies were apprehending them in their large numbers on daily basis.
The photographs, which security expert, Zagazola Makama, shared on X, showed individuals posing with large sums of cash in N1000 denominations, with one image featuring a bandit sitting on a motorcycle with a rifle beside him.
Another image shows that the currency notes were arranged on a floor.
Zagazola had written, “They are now posing with the ransom money. Showing that they are balling.”
In response, the Police Force Public Relations Officer ACP Adejobi, acknowledged that while not all criminals could be apprehended at once, no one would go unpunished.
He encouraged Nigerians to appreciate the efforts of law enforcement, highlighting the daily arrests of numerous criminals.
The police spokesman wrote, “We can’t apprehend all the criminals at once. At least appreciate us for the ones we have arrested. We arrest them on a daily basis, in large numbers.
“The armed forces and the police are trying their best. Efforts of security forces should be seen, noticed, and appreciated.
“We need to look towards having the collective efforts and individualistic involvement in tackling insecurity and other vices in Nigeria. One thing is sure, no criminal will go unpunished,” he said.
