The Federal Government has disbursed ₦38.93 billion to 166 public tertiary institutions across Nigeria under the Needs Assessment Revitalisation Fund to address infrastructure deficits and improve teaching and learning facilities.
The beneficiaries comprise 79 universities, 46 polytechnics and 41 colleges of education, with the funds earmarked for approved projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and meeting critical institutional needs.

According to a press release by the Federal Ministry of Finance, universities received the largest share of the allocation, with ₦28.5 billion disbursed to 79 institutions.
The 46 polytechnics received a combined ₦5.8 billion, while 41 colleges of education were allocated ₦4.7 billion.
The intervention is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve the quality of tertiary education and address the needs of public universities.
It also supports the implementation of agreed measures contained in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The ministry said the funds would enable beneficiary institutions to commence or continue approved projects designed to address critical infrastructure gaps and other identified needs.
It added that effective collaboration among the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Federal Ministry of Education and the beneficiary institutions would be essential to ensuring that the funds deliver tangible improvements in educational infrastructure and institutional capacity.
