Many Feared Killed Including Pregnant Woman As Terrorists Attack Katsina

Bandits have reportedly attacked Gidan Dan Yaya community in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing four people, including a pregnant woman, injuring one, and abducting at least 10 residents.

The attack, occurred on Sunday night, with reports indicating the bandits targeted the community, leaving a trail of death and destruction.

A source and X user with account Bakatsine and handle @DanKatsina50, who shared the information on X, revealed that Kankara LGA had recently signed a peace pact with bandits, raising concerns about the effectiveness of such agreements.

It was reported that in a related incident, bandits also attacked Faruruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting five women, including four nursing mothers.

In earlier tweet, it also stated “Yesterday night, bandits attacked Faruruwa community in Shanono LGA, Kano State. They abducted five women, including four nursing mothers. The raid comes as several LGAs in neighbouring Katsina State have had peace pacts with bandit groups, a move I warn may be displacing bandits into neighbouring states.

“Kano State must urgently coordinate with Katsina Government and reinforce frontline security or risk the peace deals in Katsina crippling Kano’s security.”
