EXPOSED: How Nigerian Pastor Faked Own Kidnap To Implicate Fraud Victims

It was sad when information reaching us how Nigerian Pastor Faked Own Kidnap To Implicate Fraud Victims

The purported kidnap attempt story of a pastor and general overseer of Manifestation Church International, Ogun State, is largely a hoax, according to information obtained from reliable sources.

A recent Facebook post made by the Pastor, Ambassador Benjamin Ekanem aka Oracle, narrating how police averted an attempt by a six-man kidnap gang to whisk him away from a venue of a crusade, is gaining traction.

The said Facebook post reads: “Just This Evening At Mkpat Enin God Delivered Me From The Hands Of Kidnappers. While The Service Was Going On About Six(6) Boys Drove In With A Sienna Just To Disrupt The Meeting And Pick Me While Pst Enobong Udosen Was Preaching But God Disappointed Them And Put Them To Shame as They Were All Arrested And Currently In The police custody. Help Me Thank God For My Life! I’m The Manifestation Oracle. The Angel That Connects Men And Divinity.”

However, investigation corroborated by eyewitnesses accounts of the incident fault the Pastor’s claim.

The controversial incident which occurred at QIC Primary School, Mkpat Enin Junction, Mkpat Enin LGA in Akwa Ibom State has now been discovered to be a fallout of a miracle lotto deal that went sour at neighbouring Ikot Abasi LGA.

Amb. Ekanem was a quest minister at a crusade organised by the Asuquo World Outreach (AWO) led by Dr. Emmanuel Asuquo.

Dr. Asuquo is the General Overseer of Goshen City Church. During the crusade held between Wednesday, May 19, 2021, and Friday, May 21, 2021, at Utaewa Primary School ground, Ikot Abasi LGA, the quest minister, Amb. Ekanem gave out numbers (figures) which he said were miracle lotto digits. He reportedly sold the digits to persons who offered sums ranging from 10,000 to 200,000 Naira.

When they failed to win their stakes at lotto outlets, some of the persons approached the host of the crusade, Dr. Emmanuel Asuquo, for a refund of their money.

Dr. Asuquo, who denied collaborating with his colleague to fleece the congregation, was arrested by one of the victims in Ikot Abasi LGA. He was later granted bail and has maintained that he has no hand in the failed miracle lotto deal.

His effort to make Amb. Asuquo make refunds to the aggrieved persons proved abortive.

Amb. Ekanem was said to have left for Lagos immediately after the controversial crusade in Ikot Abasi. He returned to Akwa Ibom to hold the ‘Mkpat Enin Liberation Crusade’ between Tuesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 27, 2021, held at QIC Primary School, Mkpat Enin Junction, and tagged “Oh Lord let my star shine.”

When a commercial driver – one of the persons whom Ekanem allegedly sold the miracle lotto digits to – saw the crusade banner, he notified other alleged victims. He later took them in his commercial vehicle to the crusade venue where they approached Ekanem for their money. The commercial vehicle is the Sienna bus mentioned by Amb. Ekanem on his viral Facebook post.

When he got wind of the presence of the six persons, Ekanem notified police officers who guarded the crusade venue, and they were promptly arrested.

They have been held in police custody in Mkpat Enin for the past two days. Claims that they stormed the crusade ground with weapons were strongly debunked by sources. Efforts to secure their bail have so far been futile.

Amb. Ekanem could not be reached for his reaction as his phone line (0703***) was switched off.

When contacted, Dr. Emmanuel Asuquo, who hosted him in Ikot Abasi, confirmed that his colleague did give out lotto figures during the crusade, but insisted that he has no hand in the ill-fated lotto deal.

He added that Ekanem dealt directly with those persons. He called on the public to discountenance claims that he is a fraudster.
