Tinubu Will Get 100% Northern Support in 2027, Yari Assures President
Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has assured President Bola Tinubu of total support from northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Yari gave the assurance on Saturday during the APC presidential campaign flag-off rally in Kaduna State, where he expressed confidence that the party would secure victory for Tinubu in the next general election.
“Northern Nigeria is 100% yours, insha Allah. This is the promise that we make, and you are going to see it in January 2027,” he said.
The former Zamfara State governor disclosed that the campaign council had been engaging traditional rulers, Islamic scholars and imams to sensitise them on the need to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to him, the APC campaign would highlight the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, human capital development and social welfare.
Yari also dismissed claims that the Tinubu administration had neglected farmers, insisting that the government remained committed to improving their welfare.
He claimed that approximately two million farmers had pledged to vote for the president in the 2027 election.
“They are lying that the government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu does not like farmers, that you hate farmers. That is not true,” he said.
The APC chieftain further accused critics of using artificial intelligence (AI) to spread misleading information about the administration.
Defending the government’s economic policies, Yari cited the exchange rate, foreign reserves and trade balance as evidence of progress under Tinubu’s leadership.
He claimed that the exchange rate had improved from a level approaching N1,800 to about N1,300, while the country’s foreign reserves had increased from $3.9 billion to between $54 billion and $57.7 billion.
Yari also stated that Nigeria’s trade balance had risen from approximately N44 billion in 2023 to N7.5 trillion.
He added that the campaign council would collaborate with APC governors across the country to mobilise support for Tinubu and ensure the party’s victory in 2027.
“The governors, your commanders in the states, are doing a remarkable job. We are going to complement them, and by God’s grace, the victory is ours,” he said.
