Full List: Fraud, Money Laundering, Drug Offences: US Names Nigerians Arrested by ICE

The United States Department of Homeland Security has identified 24 Nigerians arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over various alleged criminal offences as the Trump administration intensifies its deportation campaign.
The department published the names and photographs of the Nigerian nationals, alongside details of the alleged offences and the locations where they were arrested.
The allegations range from financial crimes, including wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering, to drug offences, identity theft, forgery, assault, weapons violations and child cruelty.
DHS said the publication was part of its effort to publicise the arrests of foreign nationals with criminal records by immigration enforcement officers.
“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” the agency said.
It further stated that DHS and ICE personnel were carrying out President Donald Trump’s promise of mass deportations, with enforcement efforts initially focusing on individuals the administration considers serious offenders.
Full List of the 24 Nigerians
The Nigerians named in the DHS publication and the alleged offences attributed to them are:
Emmanuel Omowaiye: Mail fraud in Richmond, Texas.

Laurene Onwuka: Fraud and impersonation in Chantilly, Virginia.

Olusegun Shonekan: Wire fraud in Newark, New Jersey.

Olusegun Olaseni: Amphetamine sale in Greencastle, Indiana.

Peter Ude: Wire fraud in Atlanta, Georgia.
Newton Jemide: Wire fraud, conspiracy and mail fraud in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Shedrack Umukoro: Money laundering in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
Olasoji Akinbode: Fraud and impersonation in Kearny, New Jersey.
Oluwatosin Afolabi: Fraud in Conroe, Texas.
Alameen Adetunji Tokosi: Drug possession in Chicago, Illinois.
Joshua Ipoade: Wire fraud in Atlanta, Georgia.
Michael Orji: Weapons violation, fraud, identity theft, wire fraud, false citizenship and money laundering in Oxford, Wisconsin.
Ahmadu Apooyin: A drug-related offence in Baltimore, Maryland.
Teslim Kiriji: Money laundering in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
Onomen Uduebor: Identity theft in Seattle, Washington.
Charles Ochi: Money laundering in White Deer, Pennsylvania.
Daniel Eta: Wire fraud in White Deer, Pennsylvania.
Ifeanyi Ibennah: Cruelty towards a child in Tampa, Florida.
Kazeem Runsewe: Wire fraud in Thomson, Illinois.
Fatiu Lawal: Wire fraud in Lompoc, California.
Justin Akubueze: Money laundering in Orem, Utah.
Moyinoluwaseun Okeowo: Larceny, forgery and concealing stolen property in Orlando, Florida.
Babajide Oluwaseun Faseyi: Assault in Alden, New York.
Bright Eigbedion: Money laundering in Lompoc, California.
The announcement highlights the range of alleged offences associated with the Nigerians named in the immigration agency’s publication, with financial crimes featuring prominently on the list.
However, the publication of an individual’s name in an arrest announcement does not automatically establish guilt. The specific legal status and outcome of each case would need to be verified independently.
Editorial note: Before publication, it would be advisable to verify the original DHS release and confirm whether each individual was convicted, charged or merely arrested. This helps avoid presenting allegations as established facts.
