Tinubu Closed His Doors To Ministers, NASS Members; Ndume Fire At President Over Hardship, Hunger

Senate Chief Whip, Ali Ndume has accused President Bola Tinubu of preventing ministers and National Assembly members from having access to him to discuss burning issues regarding the hardship Nigerians are experiencing.

Ndume said the inability of Tinubu’s administration to address the hardship occasioned by the rising cost of living and food scarcity was a cause for concern.

The lawmaker disclosed this during an interview with BBC Hausa.

He said: “The major problem with this government is that its doors are closed, to the extent that even some ministers cannot see the President, not to mention members of the National Assembly, who do not have the opportunity to meet with him and discuss the issues affecting their constituencies.”

This comes after Ndume and Senator Sunday Steve Karimi sponsored a motion to address the food crisis in the country.

They noted that the World Food Programme had warned that 82 million Nigerians were likely to face food insecurity in the next five years.
