Kannywood Star Samha Inuwa in EFCC Custody for Alleged Naira Abuse

The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a Kannywood actress, Samha Inuwa, over an alleged act of Naira mutilation.
In a statement on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the Commission said Inuwa was arrested following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which she was allegedly seen using Naira notes to clean mucus from her nose.
The EFCC disclosed that the video triggered an immediate investigation, leading to the tracing and subsequent arrest of the actress to answer questions regarding the alleged offence.
According to the Commission, Inuwa is currently being held at its detention facility in Kano while investigations are ongoing.
The anti-graft agency added that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
