IGP Disu Hosts NIPSS DG, Seeks Stronger Security Collaboration
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on April 16, 2026, received the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, as both institutions explored avenues for strategic collaboration.
The NIPSS delegation included DIG ‘Leye Oyebade (Rtd), mni, and Dr. Garba Malumfashi.
Discussions during the meeting centered on strengthening the institutional relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and NIPSS, with emphasis on national security, strategic leadership, capacity development, and policy support.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Omotayo described NIPSS as Nigeria’s foremost policy think tank operating under the Presidency. He noted that the Institute serves as a leading platform for policy formulation, strategic research, and high-level dialogue aimed at shaping governance and national development.
In his response, the Inspector-General of Police expressed appreciation for the visit and underscored the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and policy institutions in advancing national security objectives.
He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, capacity building, and ongoing reforms designed to enhance professionalism and service delivery.
The IGP also assured the delegation of the Force’s readiness to partner with NIPSS in promoting research, policy development, and leadership initiatives that would strengthen internal security and governance across the country.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to fostering institutional partnerships as part of efforts to ensure a safer and more secure nation.
