“We’re Supporting Tinubu Because He Is Yoruba, Not Because Everything Is Going Well” — Elder Says, Tells Peter Obi What To Do
A Yoruba elder in a viral video has said that support for President Bola Tinubu is not necessarily because of his administration’s performance, but because “it is still Yoruba’s turn” to occupy the presidency.
According to him, Tinubu should return to office regardless of whether Nigerians believe he is performing well or not.
“Whether Baba Tinubu is performing well or not, he must return to office. We are supporting him because he is Yoruba. It is still Yoruba’s turn. Peter Obi should wait,” he said.
He maintained that ethnic rotation remains a major reason for his support for Tinubu’s continued presidency.
