Why INEC Removed Our Governorship Candidate from the List — NDC

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has said the omission of its Kano State governorship candidate, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and his running mate, Mustapha Rabi’u Kwankwaso, from the list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was due to an error.
The commission released its list of candidates for various elective positions on Saturday, but the names of the NDC candidates were conspicuously absent from the Kano State section.
Reacting to the development, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmata, Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya Caucus and the party’s House of Representatives candidate in Kano, said the NDC had been assured that the omission occurred during the entry of the candidates’ details.
Kofarmata explained that INEC was working to rectify the error, expressing confidence that the names of Gwarzo and his running mate would be added to the list.
He maintained that the governorship candidate had completed all registration requirements within the period provided by INEC.
He further stated that the party had submitted the necessary details through the commission’s online portal.
The NDC chieftain called on party supporters to remain peaceful and focused, urging them to continue their political activities while awaiting the resolution of the matter.
