Palestinians Will Be Resettled In Safer, More Beautiful Communities, Donald Trump Insists Over Gaza Takeover
President Donald Trump of the United States has sparked controversy with his plan to take over the Gaza Strip, claiming Israel will hand it over to the US after the fighting is over.
Trump’s proposal involves relocating Gaza’s 1.8million Palestinians to neighbouring countries, which has been met with strong opposition from Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab states.
Trump’s plan marks a significant departure from the long-standing US policy of supporting a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.
Instead, he envisions a US-led redevelopment of Gaza, creating “unlimited numbers of jobs and housing” and transforming it into “The Riviera of the Middle East”.
The proposal has been widely criticised, with many expressing concerns about the potential for forced displacement, instability, and violence.
Democratic Senator Chris Murphy described the idea as “ridiculous and absurd,” warning that a US invasion of Gaza would lead to the slaughter of thousands of US troops and decades of war in the Middle East.
Minority Leader of the United States Senate, Chuck Schumer, also criticised Trump actions in the past weeks, adding that he didn’t know that Trump would “screw up so soon”.
Trump’s comments also drew a rebuke from Saudi Arabia, which emphasized its commitment to a two-state solution and rejected any plan to displace Palestinians from their land. Other countries, including Australia and New Zealand, have also reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution.
However, in a post on his social media platforms on Thursday, Trump took a jab on the Minority Leader of the United States Senate, Chuck Schumer, comparing him to Palestinians.
Schumer is the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in America but while weighing in on the Trump administration’s actions of the past week, commended American people for causing reversal of a memo.
“Today, we saw what happens when Americans fight back against disastrous policies,” Schumer said during a press conference.
“Americans made their voices heard. Donald Trump rescinded the OMB order.”

Doubling down on his plan to take over the Gaza, Trump wrote: “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting.
“The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region.”
He maintained that by the resettling Palestinians they will have a chance to be happy, safe and free again.
“They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth.
“No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!”
