    …advises parties to sheathe their swords and embrace peace

    It was a thing of Joy and jubilation in Uruan Local government Area, Akwa ibom state, on Thursday when Hon. Surv. Iniobong Ekpeyong, visited that has long battling fight.

    Upon hearing the lingering disputes among two communities in Uruan Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong, led members of the Council to meet with leaders and parties in Nnaenin and Anakpa community were burning issues that could incite violence to loss of lives and properties in the community.

    Ekpenyong’s visit was to initiate peace as a result of the lingering communal clash/war between the two communities where he urged everybody to stay calm that he would involve the two communities on how the matter will be settled amicably.

    In a quick response to the motion raised by the councilor represent central IV, Hon Nsikak Edem, on infrastructural upgrade and deployment of teachers to community secondary school in the Area, the council helmsman also visited the school to ascertain the needs as contained in the motion raised by the councilor of the ward.

    Among the delegation was the Vice Chairman, Mrs Uduak Udoenang, Council secretary, Mr Inyang Ekpe Atakpo, leader of the 7th Uruan Legislative council, Hon Sunday Bassey, Councilors among others.

    The war between the two communities has been battling for years now, claiming so many live and properties, nobody to settled them, until on Thursday when a motion was moved by Honorable councilor, Uruan local government chairman, Hon. Surv. Ekpeyong and his teams immediately moved to action.

    Ekpeyong who is a problems’ solver local government council chairman, promised the two communities peace and all what is needed to make enjoy peaceful atmosphere.

    IBOM FOCUS notice that, since Surv. Ekpeyong took over as council Boss, many things in the local government Area has been changed for good, and people of the Area are very comfortable and happy.
