Nigerian University To Adopt E-naira Policy For Tuition, Other Payments
The Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, has said the institution will adopt e-Naira policy in payment of tuition and others.
Tukur, who spoke in his office, yesterday, when he received the Branch Controller of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Kano, Umar Ibrahim Biu, said the university community would adopt the new e-wallet system in its payment of fees, salaries and other transactions.
He said: “We appreciate the idea of the CBN coming to launch the e-Naira initiative in this institution. This is a university where students are e-confined already. They are doing a lot of things. Some of the academic activities are via e-platforms. So, it is very easy for students to adopt this e-era.”
In his address, Biu reiterated the need for the university community to migrate to cashless system for financial security and efficiency, using the e-Naira initiative.
He said: “The e-Naira is a trend blazer now. It is something that has come to stay and we are trying to make sure that everybody is brought onboard. That is why we are doing this intervention. We have done it with so many merchants.”
