Marketers Says Dangote Creates Problems With Those Who Should Help His Refinery
Nigeria’s oil marketers have said that the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has created problems with actors in the oil and gas sector that would have made his 650,000 barrels per day refinery succeed.
The National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, Billy Gillis-Harry disclosed this in an exclusive interview on Monday.
He spoke on the heels of the feud between Dangote Refinery and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, over supply of 26 million barrels of crude.
Reacting to the development, Gillis-Harry explained that it would be impossible for the Lagos-based refinery to commence fuel refining without receiving sufficient crude supply.
According to him, Dangote Refinery alone can’t receive 26 million barrels of crude allocation when there are other domestic refineries in Nigeria.
He said all stakeholders should have a round-table meeting to solve the crisis in the country’s oil and gas industry.
“He has openly created arguments between him and those who should help him solve the crude supply challenges.
“If they have not been able to resolve the crude oil crisis, I don’t see how he can commence petrol refining.
“The man is just a deceit. There is no way the 26 million barrels can be for Dangote Refinery when it has not been fully licensed.
“All the actors have to sit down and analyze solutions,” he said.
