BREAKING: IPOB Sends Strong Warning To INEC, NYSC Members Over Imo Governorship Election

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has cautioned staff members of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, against rigging Saturday’s governorship election in Imo State.

IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, warned that any INEC staff caught rigging the governorship election in Imo State will get it “hot.”

Powerful warned that any INEC ad-hoc staff, NYSC member, or Polling Officer who attempts to rig the election would be doing so at his own risk.

A statement by Powerful said the warning was to prevent any attempt to subvert the will of the people of Imo State on Saturday.

According to Powerful: “We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the prophet and great leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU wish to reiterate once again that any INEC ad-hoc staff that uses his or her desk to subvert the will of the people of Imo State in the name of working for APC and Hope Uzodinma will receive it hot even after the elections on the 11th November 2023. If you know you can not resist bribes and intimidation from Hope Uzodinma and APC, it is better to back off to avoid had I known.

“Any INEC Adhoc staff, SPO, PO and NYSC member who will be used by APC agents to falsify results or try to transmit fake results from the polling units will be doing so at his or her own risk. The same goes to the political thugs working for and as agents for Hope Uzodinma to rig this election, should be ready for what will befall them even after the election.

“IPOB reiterates our stand towards this election because nobody wants to witness the atrocities that have happened in Imo State in the last four years to continue. Imo State people’s will, must not be subverted this time and those who have been contracted to subvert the will of the people must be ready to face the consequences.

“All those employed and drafted to various polling units to help rig this election will be doing so to their own and family risks; their families must call them to order or they all will sorely regret having participated in this election. Anyone that enthroned evil on the people deserves no mercy. IPOB eyes are at every corner in the state monitoring the activities of political jobbers and criminals.”

How Governor Uzodinma Blocked Release Of IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of sponsoring terror in the state and blackmailing him against the people of the state.

Uzodinma, who made the accusation on Tuesday in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Public Communications, Collins Ughalaa, a few days to the November 11 governorship election in the state, said that the PDP was blackmailing him with the fake news that he blocked the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Ughalaa stated that “Having realised their looming defeat at the Saturday, November 11 governorship election in Imo State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a party rejected by the people of Imo State since 2007, has resorted to some devilish propaganda in order to curry some unmerited favours with the masses of the state.

“We know that the disgruntled opposition party can do anything, including supporting or sponsoring terror in the state, but we thought the party still had some shame but the recent desperation to blackmail Governor Hope Uzodinma with the fake story that the governor is blocking the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, shows that the party is capable of doing any evil without scruples.

“In a fake story titled: “Uzodinma blocking the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu – Tinubu” and being circulated by the PDP and their agents, the party falsely accused the governor of blocking the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“The story is false in its entirety. Not only did President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not make the statement they falsely credited to him, the governor never made any move to block Kanu’s release neither did he reach out to the President not to release Kanu. There is no reason for such a move whatsoever.

“On the contrary, Governor Hope Uzodinma is championing the resolution of all the issues affecting Ndigbo in the country, particularly mobilising Igbo leaders and stakeholders towards achieving the resolution of all the issues, especially the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“Perhaps, unknown to the sponsors and peddlers of the fake news, while he was a Senator, Governor Hope Uzodinma was among the few Igbo leaders, especially Senators who sticked out their neck to ensure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in April 2017.

“Furthermore, Governor Hope Uzodinma’s life, both as a public servant and a private citizen, has centered around the good of the people. At no occasion has he shown himself to be against the people. He loves his Igbo brothers and has always advanced the course of the Igbo people.”

Ughalaa stated that it is important that Igbo people all over the world and Nigerians in general “throw away this devilish propaganda from the real enemies of Igbo people, who could not lift a finger to develop Igbo land when they had the opportunity to do so.”

According to him, “As we get closer to the Saturday poll, it is imperative to alert our people that the disgruntled opposition will churn out more of such devilish propaganda against the governor.

“While we urge those who are interested in the governorship seat of Imo State to subject themselves to the electorates on Saturday and not resort to devilish propaganda, we advise media houses to stop lending their platforms to merchants of evil.”

Supreme Court Never Affirm Tinubu As Winner 2023 Election – Datti Baba-Ahmed Blows Hot

Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said that the Supreme Court did not affirm the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, contrary to the general belief

According to the former federal lawmaker, the apex court merely upheld what he described as the illegality declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Datti Baba-Ahmed stated this when he appeared as a guest on Arise TV on Monday evening, hours after his boss, Peter Obi, addressed the press on the outcome of the judicial process in the aftermath of the election.

He said they had rejected the Supreme Court judgement and did not accept it as a valid ruling.

Peter Obi had gone to the apex court to challenge the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which upheld INEC’s declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the election.

The apex court, in its ruling, stood by the PEPT’s decision, affirming Tinubu as the duly elected president.

“Please quote me on this: the Appeal and Supreme Courts did not affirm Tinubu’s presidency. They merely upheld the illegality of INEC’s declaration,” Datti Baba-Ahmed said on Arise TV.

“We accepted the judgment because it was the last step for HE Peter Obi and I to take; we rejected and did not accept it as a valid judgment.”

We Hope You’ll Campaign On Issues And Not On Religious, Ethnic Sentiments In 2027 – Presidency Blasts Peter Obi

The Bola Tinubu presidency has scolded the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for rejecting the Supreme Court verdict, saying he (Obi) and his lawyers failed to provide evidence in court.

The presidency in a release by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Monday said Obi was free to take another shot at Nigerian presidency in 2027 and focus on “issues and not religious or ethnic sentiments.”

Ibom Focus earlier reported that Obi during his World Press Conference in reaction to the Supreme Court judgment said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) displayed incompetence in the conduct of the 2023 elections but the apex court willfully condoned the electoral body’s incompetence and violation of the law.

The former Governor of Anambra State had said the Supreme Court judgment amounted to a breach of confidence Nigerians have in judiciary and that “it is a show of unreasonable force against the Nigerian people from whom the power of the constitution derives.”

Reacting, the presidency in the statement, titled, “Peter Obi should find a better vocation instead of casting aspersions on the judiciary” said, “We are at a loss as to how the copy-cat Obi and his faction of Labour Party convinced themselves they won an election in which they came a distant third.

“The grand delusion that made Obi believe he could have won a national election where he ran the most hateful, divisive and polarising campaign that pitched Christians against Muslims and one ethnic group against the other in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society like Nigeria should be a matter for deeper examination.

“At the press conference where he tried, in vain, to gaslight Nigerians with false claims and innuendos, Obi contradicted himself. Here was a beneficiary of judicial pronouncements in the past now castigating the same court because its judgment did not go his way.

“Obi claimed the Supreme Court justices didn’t consider public opinion in delivering what has been applauded as a most profound judgement in an election appeal where the Labour Party candidate presented the most watery and unreasonable petition before any court in the history of electoral cases in Nigeria.

“He made false allegations of rigging and other electoral malpractices yet could not produce any evidence to back up his claims at both the court of first instance and at the apex court. In a failed effort to mobilise and retain the support of his supporters, Obi gave them a forlorn hope that he won the election and would prove it before the courts. Throughout the trial, his lawyers didn’t present any alternative results different from the results INEC uploaded on the IReV portal and the ones signed by all party agents from the 176,000 polling units.

“We wonder how the Labour Party candidate expected the courts to do justice on the basis of rumours, lies and false narratives by sponsored partisans and fanatical members of his Obidient Movement.

“We expected the Labour Party candidate to know that the Supreme Court or any other court does not give judgment based on public opinion and mob sentiments. Judicial pronouncements are based on evidence, precedents and the rule of law.

“Having admitted that the Supreme Court ruling brought an end to litigation and any challenge to the bona-fide of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the validly elected leader of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Obi should have congratulated President Tinubu for his victory and pledge his support, in the spirit of statesmanship.

“But instead, he brought up extraneous matters that he thought the apex court should have considered to declare him the winner. In our view, the drowning Obi, just like Atiku, was merely attempting to hold on to a straw in raking up new allegations, which exist only in his imagination and that of his hordes of supporters.

“Our admonition to Mr. Peter Obi is to find another worthwhile vocation to engage his time henceforth, having been rejected by majority of Nigerians who didn’t consider him qualified to lead our country.

“Nigerians rejected Peter Obi and his demagoguery at the poll because he posed present and future danger to the peace, progress and stability of our country.

“Obi’s antecedents as Governor of Anambra for eight years didn’t inspire any confidence as someone capable of running a country like Nigeria. No tangible records of achievement in the state he governed recommended him for the Presidency of Nigeria.

“If Peter Obi truly believes in Nigeria, the time to prove it is now when all men and women of goodwill are rallying support for President Tinubu in his determination to lead a new era of prosperity, inclusive governance and economic growth in Nigeria. Finally, we welcome Obi and his party to play the role of the opposition and start preparing for another shot at the presidency in 2027. We hope by then he would campaign on issues and not whip up religious and ethnic sentiments as he did in the last campaign.”

The family of the esteemed Nollywood veteran, John Okafor, fondly known as Mr. Ibu, has generated quite a stir on the internet with a recent update on his health condition.

Recall that Mr Ibu marked his 62nd birthday at a hospital in October, as a video showed one of the actor’s legs was an eyesore as it was severely wounded.

Social media personality, VeryDarkMan, in a new video he released via his Instagram page on Monday, November 6, revealed Mr Ibu’s leg had been amputated.

In a recent official statement regarding Mr. Ibu’s health, the family has affirmed that one of his legs has been amputated as a temporary measure to stabilize him.

They emphasized that the Veteran Actor still requires all the assistance he can receive, particularly because the other leg is in a fragile state.

According to them, Mr. Ibu has undergone seven successful surgeries, but to preserve his life and enhance his prospects of recuperation, the decision was made to amputate one of his legs.

The family expressed their gratitude to everyone for their support, recognizing the significance of the assistance provided during this difficult time.

Information reaching Ibom Focus says that Like IGP, INEC Chairman Remove Imo REC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Monday charged the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to immediately redeploy the Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

PDP said Yakubu should redeploy Agu for allegedly having been compromised to manipulate the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Imo State in favour of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The opposition party urged the INEC chairman to take a cue from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who redeployed the Commissioner of Police in Imo State in response to the demand of the people for neutrality in the November 11 poll.

A statement by PDP’s spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, said: “Prof. Yakubu should forestall an impending crisis in the Imo State election by heeding the insistent outcry, Petitions and Protests by the people of Imo State, Political Parties, Civil Society Organizations as well as Ohaneze Youth Council for the removal of the Prof. Sylvia Agu who has been allegedly compromised by the APC.

“The people of Imo State cannot accept any electoral process with Prof. Agu as REC, given her reported role in the brazen manipulation of the 2023 National and House of Assembly elections in Imo State in favour of the APC, which is still in the public domain.

“The redeployment of Sylvia Agu out of Imo State is therefore the only way to restore confidence in the electoral process, guarantee a credible election and avert crisis in the State.

“This is especially so as there are very disturbing allegations in the public space of clandestine meetings between Prof. Agu and certain APC agents said to have been facilitated by her close relative, who is an APC national officer, ahead of the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Imo State.

“The PDP calls on the INEC Chairman to note that the integrity of an election principally lies in the confidence of the electorate in the electoral process.

“Prof. Sylvia Agu has lost the rectitude as Resident Electoral Commissioner and should not be part of the conduct of the November 11, 2023 governorship election. Her continuing stay in office as Imo REC is vexatious and a recipe for crisis.

“The PDP therefore restates its demand on the INEC Chairman to immediately redeploy Prof. Sylvia Agu out of Imo State so as to restore the confidence of the people and the integrity of the electoral

Presidential Election: ‘Real Reason I Refused To Step Down, Work With Atiku’ – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the last election, Peter Obi, has revealed why he refused to step down for his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, counterpart, Atiku Abubakar.

Recall that Obi was the running mate to Atiku in the 2019 presidential election when both men ran on the platform of the PDP.

But due to some internal crisis in the PDP, Obi, who was expected to run with Atiku again in 2023, left the party and joined the LP. He contested the presidential poll on the platform of the LP, winning in 12 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Obi addressed the press on Monday, about two weeks after the judgement of the Supreme Court that upheld the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general election.

Obi said he refused to step down or work with Atiku because he came out to campaign for a new Nigeria, unlike other presidential candidates.

He said, “We don’t regret anything we did. We came out on a campaign for new Nigeria which no other person did.

Peter Obi Addresses World Press Conference Over S’court Judgment

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last election, will address a world press conference today, November 6 at 2pm.

This was disclosed by Obiora Ifoh, national publicity secretary of LP.

“His Excellency Peter Obi will address a World Press Conference scheduled for 2 pm today at Campaign Headquarters,” the statement reads.

Alongside Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the poll, Obi had challenged the outcome of the February 25 election and the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the poll.

While dismissing the petitions of both candidates, the tribunal had affirmed Tinubu as winner of the poll, with the supreme court upholding the tribunal’s verdict on October 26.

Abubakar had addressed a world press conference of his own on the apex court’s verdict on October 30.

This would be Obi’s first press briefing since the supreme court verdict.
