JUST IN: Less Than 48 Hours After Two Passengers Lost Their Lives, Many Feared Killed, Injured As Bus Crashes On Abuja Road Again

Barely 48 hours after two passengers lost their lives and six others got injuries in a bus accident, three persons again lost their lives while two others sustained injuries in another crash in Anini village on the Abuja-Lokoja road.

A witness said the accident involved an 18- seater bus with registration number: MSA 666 XA.

He said the fully bus with 13 passengers on board was travelling from Kano to Kabba in Kogi State when its driver, Usman Yakubu, lost control after a tyre bust.

He said the bus veered off from the highway and crashed into the bush with three of the passengers dying on the spot.

He further said officials of the Yangoji Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who rushed to the scene with an ambulance evacuated both the injured victims and the corpses to the Kwali General Hospital.

An official of the FRSC, who was part of the rescue team, but preferred anonymity, attributed the accident to tyre bust, over-speeding and loss of control.
