Many Feared Killed As Truck Rams Into Vehicles
A devastating accident occurred on Tuesday along the Ojo-Iwo Road section of the Ibadan-Lagos expressway, near the Agbowo/Ajao area, resulting in several fatalities.
According to eyewitnesses, a truck carrying roofing sheets suffered brake failure and collided with three vehicles travelling in the same direction.
The truck’s loss of control led to a catastrophic crash involving all four vehicles.
Rescue efforts are underway, with some passengers already extracted and rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.
As of this report, the highway is experiencing heavy traffic congestion.
A joint effort by the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency is underway to clear the logjam and normalize traffic movement.
