BREAKING: Fire Burns Down Nigerian Governor’s House
Information reaching Ibom Focus says that Fire Burns Down Nigerian Governor’s House
Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, the former Kano State Governor, lost his Mundubawa home to fire on Sunday night, demolishing the living rooms of his third wife, Halima Shekarau.
The source of the fire, which began in the house’s kitchen on Sunday night, could not be determined immediately.
Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule, Malam Shekarau’s Media Adviser, confirmed the incident to reporters, saying that the fire began Sunday evening from the inner kitchen of the house, which was on the ground floor of the multi-million naira mansion.
He said, “We thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s living rooms and already men of the State Fire Service had successfully put off the fire.”
The spokesperson of the State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, when contacted, confirmed the incident, he however declined further comment on the cause of the inferno saying things are still being put in order.
“We are still at the house and you know I cannot comment on anything now because we are still trying to make sure that the fire didn’t spread to other places”, he added.
