    Information reaching Ibom Focus says that Driver Slaughter Boss, Wife In Abuja

    One Jonathan Marcus has been arrested for the murder of 80-year-old man Adebola Ezekiel and his wife, Abiodun Ezekiel in their apartment in the Apo area in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

    It was reported how the aged couple were found dead in their apartment after being hacked by their attackers earlier in April.

    The man, who was in a wheelchair and his wife had their throats slit by their assailants who reportedly used daggers.

    A source said that one of the windows of the apartment was forced open and the remains of the deceased were found in a pool of blood.

    The source said, “One of the man’s sons called someone in the area to help him check on his parents who had not been picking up his calls. The door was locked when the person got there, and the son ordered him to break the door to the house to find out what was happening.”

    The FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, while addressing Journalists on Friday during a parade of suspects at the command headquarters in Abuja, said a former driver to the deceased couple has been arrested in connection will the killing.

    The CP asserted that the suspect was trailed to and arrested in his hideout in Obajana, Kogi State. He added that the suspect had confessed to having gained access to the house on the same date, slit the throats of the aged couple and stolen their phones and ATM cards.

    He said, “Following the report of the gruesome murder of an elderly couple by the name; Adebola Ezekiel, 80 years and his wife Abiodun Ezekiel, 79 years in their residence in Apo legislative quarters, on 1st April, 2024, at about 11:00 PM, the operatives of the command in response commenced an immediate discreet investigation.

    “The investigation led to the arrest of one Jonathan Marcus, a former driver to the deceased couple. He was trailed to and arrested in his hideout in Obajana, Kogi state, after committing the grievous crime.

    “The suspect freely confessed to having gained access to the house on the same date, slit the deceased throat and made away with the phones and ATM cards of the couples. Suspect will be charged to court soon.”
