BIPOGA Games: Team EFCC Bags Bronze Medal in Tug-of-War

The sports team of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Saturday, February 21, 2026 bagged a bronze medal in the tug-of-war event of the just concluded 15th Biennial Police Games, BIPOGA, that took place in Asaba, Delta State.

The EFCC team beat its counterpart from the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, drew with the National Intelligence Agency, NIA and lost to the Federal Fire Service of Nigeria, FFS to clinch the third position in the event.

In the 4×100 relay, the Commission’s team emerged fourth in the event that featured 10 agencies.

The EFCC Head of Sports, Assistant Commander of the EFCC,   ACE II Halilu Dauda while speaking on the outcome of the competition, praised the athletes for giving a good account of themselves, noting that it shows the Commission is improving in the area of sport.

“The boys did their best, they gave a very good account of themselves. We lost some of the games because we competed with more experienced athletes from other agencies. I strongly believe that with regular training and good sport kits, we will do much better next time,” he said.
