BREAKING: Many Feared Killed, Abducted As Bandits Block Road

Bandits terrorising Kaduna State on Thursday night carried out another attack, killing one person and injuring several others.

It was learnt that the incident occurred in the Ikara local government area when the assailants blocked Pala-Sayasaya Road.

It was the same place where the bandits struck on Wednesday.

A resident of the area confirmed the killing and how the development caused panic following gunshots fired sporadically by the bandits.

The bandits were said to have kidnapped some passersby on motorcycles and taken them away into the forest.

Another source said the bandits stole over 10 motorcycles, seized at gunpoint, following an ambush in the bad terrain area.

“Many of those injured were rushed to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Zaria and also Ikara General Hospital, located in the headquarters of the local government,” the source added.

Only days ago, bandits in large numbers kidnapped six farmers while working on their farms in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A source in Birnin Gwari town confirmed the abduction to SaharaReporters which he said occurred on Monday evening.

According to the source, the incident happened in Layin Danauta village in Kuyello Ward of the Birnin Gwari local government.

The source further said the farmers, who are his relations, were working on their beans farm.

At the time of this report, according to the source, only six farmers have been identified, and the number could be higher.

SaharaReporters had last Friday reported that terrorists kidnapped several traders on in the Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State.

A source in Birnin Gwari, the local government headquarters, had confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters.

According to the source, the traders were travelling in a golf car to the weekly Layin Danauta market in Birnin Gwari when the attack occurred.

The exact number of victims remains unconfirmed, as such vehicles are often overloaded beyond their official capacity.

“The bandits intercepted the car at Kwanan Danwandara in Tabani Ward, Birnin Gwari, and abducted all the occupants, including the driver,” the source stated.

“In the same vicinity, they also kidnapped two individuals on a motorcycle, taking all the captives into the forest.”

The incident took place around 8am.

The traders in the vehicle were reportedly coming from the Dandume area of Katsina State, while the two individuals on the motorcycle are from Kuyello Ward in Birnin Gwari local government.

Bandits in Kaduna State continue to strike with seeming impunity, as another attack occurred on Wednesday night in the state.
