BREAKING: Tinubu To ‘Reduce Price Of Bag Rice To N20,000, Fuel To N200′, Others
On Sunday, the senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Pastor Adewale Giwa, urged President Bola Tinubu to reduce the price of rice to N20,000 per bag and petrol to N200 per litre.
Pastor Giwa also emphasized the importance of reopening all land borders to address the challenges facing Nigerians.
In a personally signed statement, Pastor Giwa stated, “I implore President Bola Tinubu to make every effort to lower the price of rice to N20,000 per bag and petrol to N200 per litre. If the president is committed to solving Nigeria’s challenges, he should have already reopened the land borders as I previously advised.”
Furthermore, Pastor Giwa criticized the organizers of the planned August 1 nationwide protest, calling them rabble-rousers.
He warned that genuine protests would emerge organically from markets, churches, and streets without prior notice to the government.
Addressing the issue of planned protests, Giwa remarked, “The organizers are rabble-rousers aiming to exploit the current economic hardship for political gain. They are largely social media users who support certain politicians. True protests will arise spontaneously in markets, churches, and streets, without any prior announcement to the government.
Referencing a biblical story from Judges chapter 3, Giwa drew a parallel to Ehud’s secretive rescue of the Israelites from King Eglon of Moab. He noted, “When Ehud sought to liberate the Israelites, he did not inform anyone of his plans. He acted decisively, ending 18 years of oppression. Similarly, when the time comes for the poor to protest, they will do so without fear of intimidation, harassment, or violence.”
