The Nigerian Armed Forces has reinforced its civil-military cooperation efforts with an educational outreach to Ogwumabiri Primary School in Lilu community, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, under Operation UDO KA.
The event, attended by members of the local community, featured the distribution of school bags and exercise books to pupils by the Headquarters Joint Task Force South East (JTF SE) Operation UDO KA. The initiative is aimed at encouraging academic excellence while strengthening the relationship between the military and the civilian population.
Representing the Commander JTF SE Operation UDO KA and General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division, Major General Oluremi Ayobami Fadairo, the Chief of Staff, Headquarters 82 Division, Brigadier General Saka Jimoh, described education as a critical tool for societal transformation and economic growth.
He urged the pupils and staff to make effective use of the materials to improve learning outcomes and assured residents of the Armed Forces’ continued commitment to maintaining security and stability in Anambra State. He also appreciated the GOC for supporting the outreach initiative.
In his remarks, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 82 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Olalekan Ayeni, emphasized the importance of investing in children as future leaders. He noted that sustainable development plays a key role in achieving lasting peace and said the initiative reflects the military’s determination to rebuild trust and confidence among residents.
Ayeni further encouraged displaced members of the community to return home, noting that peace is gradually being restored in Lilu and surrounding areas. He also commended the leadership of Operation UDO KA for the intervention.
The Headteacher of Ogwumabiri Primary School, Mrs. Grace Nnubia, expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the gesture, pledging that the school would continue to uphold values of discipline and academic excellence.
The event was attended by senior military officers, including the Commander of the 302 Artillery Regiment (General Support), Onitsha, Colonel Madaki Yakubu, alongside other representatives of the 82 Division.
