VIDEO: APC Mobilisers Warn Members Against Mentioning Tinubu’s Name During Northern Campaigns

All Progressives Congress (APC) mobilisers in northern Nigeria have cautioned party members against mentioning President Bola Tinubu’s name during campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a video seen by ibom Focus on Saturday, one of the mobilisers warned party members to focus on the APC rather than mentioning the president’s name during their campaign activities.
“All we want you to say is ‘from top to bottom is APC,’ and don’t dare mention Tinubu’s name. Otherwise, whatever happens, you are on your own,” the mobiliser said.
The development comes as the ruling party commenced its 2027 campaign rallies in Kaduna State, with preparations underway for the forthcoming general elections.
Recall that Tinubu, while inaugurating the APC Presidential Campaign Council, disclosed that he might not be able to attend all campaign rallies due to the demands of his office.
The president, however, promised to engage directly with Nigerians even as party leaders and campaign officials take the message of the ruling party to states and local government areas.
“I will make time to speak directly with Nigerians even as you lead the campaign to states and local government areas, so you will excuse me from going everywhere with you,” Tinubu stated.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Usman, has criticised politicians for allegedly abandoning ordinary citizens after elections, accusing them of prioritising personal interests over public service.
Speaking in Hausa, the monarch lamented that politicians frequently visit his palace to seek prayers and support before elections but disappear after securing political positions.
“Every four years, you come to my palace with a cap in hand, asking for prayers, asking for support. After the election, you disappear to Abuja, to Lagos. You don’t come back until the next election,” he said.
The emir questioned whether politicians regarded his palace merely as a place to visit when they needed electoral support, rather than maintaining regular contact with the people they represent.
