APC Begs Nigerians to Give Tinubu Second Chance in 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appealed to Nigerians to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu another four-year mandate in the 2027 presidential election, promising to campaign on the achievements of his administration rather than engage in personal attacks against political opponents.
The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, made this known on Tuesday in Abuja after meeting with President Tinubu at the State House.
Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, was accompanied by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, to brief the president on preparations for the party’s 2027 presidential campaign.

He said the campaign council had resolved to present the administration’s achievements to Nigerians and use its record in government to seek a fresh mandate.
According to Yari, the APC intends to conduct an issue-based campaign devoid of insults, name-calling and personal attacks, insisting that Nigerians should be allowed to assess the government’s performance before making their electoral decisions.
“As a council, what do we say we are going to do? We are going to do a campaign with the records. A responsible campaign, no insults, no calling of names because there’s no name before us, but we have a record before us to show to Nigerians,” he said.
The former governor added that the party would appeal to Nigerians to carefully examine the policies and programmes implemented by the Tinubu administration before deciding whether to support its re-election bid.
“This is what our party did. This is what our government did, so because of that, we are asking, pleading with Nigerians to look at this record carefully so that they give us a second chance for continuity,” Yari added.
The development comes as the ruling party prepares to flag off its nationwide presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Yilwatda claimed that several opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Accord Party, had aligned with the APC in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
He described the alleged support as evidence of growing political backing for the president ahead of the 2027 general election.
“If you look at what the party is doing now, the opposition is with us. All political parties that have defeated us in any election are all with us. PDP is with us, APGA is with us, Accord is with us,” Yilwatda said.
He added that the political realignment was part of the APC’s preparations for the Kaduna campaign flag-off, expressing confidence in the party’s efforts to secure another mandate for Tinubu.
