The Federal Government has disbursed ₦4.25 billion in outstanding pension and severance benefits to an additional 600 beneficiaries of the defunct Nigeria Airways Limited, bringing the total number of beneficiaries paid to 3,300.
The Federal Ministry of Finance disclosed this in a press release, stating that the latest payment covered Batches 010 and 011, with a gross disbursement of ₦4,251,043,000.19.

According to the Ministry, the first nine batches accounted for payments to 2,700 beneficiaries, while the latest disbursement extended the settlement to another 600 eligible individuals.
The payment is expected to provide financial relief to former workers and other eligible beneficiaries who have waited for years for the settlement of their outstanding pension and severance entitlements.

The Ministry also disclosed that its verification and validation exercise for the next of kin of former Nigeria Airways workers is ongoing.
The exercise is aimed at establishing eligibility and confirming claims against approved records to facilitate the payment of outstanding benefits.
It assured beneficiaries that verified claims would continue to be processed in line with established procedures to ensure that eligible individuals receive their entitlements.
The Ministry said the disbursement reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to resolving longstanding financial obligations and settling verified legacy claims.

It added that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by addressing outstanding obligations and providing financial support to affected families.
