Nigerian Navy Marines Kill 34 Boko Haram Terrorists in Lake Chad Operations
The Nigerian Navy Marines, in collaboration with the 403 Amphibious Brigade of the Nigerian Army, have neutralised 34 Boko Haram terrorists in separate offensive operations around the Lake Chad area under Operation HADIN KAI.
The operations, conducted on October 28 and 30, 2026, were part of sustained intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and disrupt their activities in the North-East.
According to operational reports, the Navy Marines initially recorded eight terrorists killed during an offensive operation on October 28. However, a subsequent Battle Damage Assessment revised the casualty figure to 28 terrorists killed.
In another operation on October 30, the Nigerian Navy Marines launched a precision strike against an identified Boko Haram terrorist enclave at Dumba following Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that helped track and monitor the terrorists.

Preliminary Battle Damage Assessment indicated that approximately six terrorists were neutralised, while several others reportedly sustained injuries. The casualty figures remain subject to further verification.
The Navy said the newly established Nigerian Navy Marines had continued to serve as a force multiplier under Operation HADIN KAI, strengthening joint offensive operations and improving the military’s capacity to identify and dismantle terrorist hideouts.
It added that the operations had significantly contributed to disrupting terrorist activities, degrading their operational capabilities and denying them freedom of movement within the Lake Chad area.
The Nigerian Navy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting joint military operations through sustained offensive engagements and intelligence-driven missions to restore peace and stability in the North-East.
