BREAKING: Many Hospitalised as Police Van, Tipper Truck Collide on Nwaniba Road in Uyo
Three persons, including a police officer and two women, have reportedly been hospitalised following a road accident involving a police van and a tipper truck along Nwaniba Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The accident occurred near EM-SSET Filling Station, shortly before the University of Uyo.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the police van was travelling behind the tipper truck when its driver reportedly attempted to overtake through the service lane.
However, shortly after overtaking, the driver allegedly encountered a parked Hilux obstructing his path and attempted to manoeuvre back into the main speed lane.
The sudden manoeuvre reportedly resulted in a collision between the police van and the tipper truck.
The two women who were seated at the rear of the police van, alongside the driver, were said to have been found unconscious before being rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The circumstances surrounding the accident and the current conditions of the injured victims remain unclear, as no official statement has been issued.
