At least 100 people have been killed while over 400 have been injured, including women and children in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Monday.

In a statement, the ministry’s Public Health Emergency Operations Centre said that Israeli’s prolonged raids on southern Lebanese towns and villages had led to what it described as “an initial toll,” meaning the numbers were expected to rise.

According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, the dead and wounded were children, women and paramedics, the statement said.

The Israeli army said on Monday it had attacked more than 300 targets linked to the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon.
