I’m Not Iwobi, I Will Insult You Back – Sadiq Umar Warns Trolls
Nigerian footballer, Sadiq Umar condemned fans who heavily criticized him following the outcome of the 2023 AFCON tournament.
Despite not participating in the AFCON finals, Umar stated that he received a barrage of criticism via direct messages (DMs).
He initially played at the start of the AFCON tournament but was sidelined due to a Meniscus injury sustained during a friendly match with Guinea.
Consequently, he left the AFCON and returned to his home club, where a subsequent diagnosis revealed that it was merely a minor swelling.
However, following Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast in the finals, many fans have directed their frustrations towards the majority of the players, with Iwobi bearing the brunt of the criticism.
Responding to trolls, he wrote: “I no even play you con dey insult me. Abeg oo. Me I no be Iwobi I go Insult person papa with him mama join. Yes I be dat typical Hausa boy Abi u see fear for my eyes
“Pushing someone into depression & mental breakdown. Yet you want life to be better for you, e no fit ever better for una.”
